JDR 7/17/10

A few weeks ago, we were trying to make some tentative plans for summer road trips. One idea was for everybody to ride up to Fairmount, Indiana to see James Dean's grave and museum. As it turned out, Barry's stepdad and uncles were wanting to come up one weekend and do some riding, so we decided on July 17.
We left from the So'full Garage(aka "the compound", aka "Barry and Kari's house") and headed east. Duane left us at Danville and turned back to go home and work. Barry's uncle Ed's 76 shovelhead started giving him trouble before we got to Attica, Indiana, so he and Randy and Roger turned back. Barry and I decided to press on and made it to Fairmount. We checked out the James Dean museum, his childhood home, gravesite, and whats left of the old Indian dealership where he got his first bike. It's definitely a cool little Indiana town if you're ever in the neighborhood.
After Fairmount, we headed over to Wabash, Indiana to meet up with the people at TAS Motorsports. They're some of the nicest people I've ever met. They knew we were coming, so we were greeted with dinner and in general treated like we were family. TAS is a true mom and pop operation and I'm glad to have gotten to meet them. Check out their website and spend some money with them. you won't be sorry. TAS Motorsports
It was starting to get late, and we had a long ride ahead of us so instead of the leisurely pace we'd been taking all day, the ride home was balls out in an attempt to just get home and relax after a long, hot day. We ended up doing about 420 miles that day and had a great time.

My buddies Jesse and rkacken were gonna drive and hour to mattoon to skate in the morning on the 4th so Duane and I decided to follow them on our bikes and shoot a few pics.
